1914 - Just blocks from Libby Hill Park, the Market opens. The day is full of people buying eggs, milk, flour, and feed corn. The neighbors stop by to visit and catch up on all the news, the weather predictions, who had babies, and what the price of coal and tobacco might be this winter.

Time brings electricity; the gas street lamps become electric. The Hill is magnified in the glow of growth, progress, and unstoppable change. The Market changes.

Century Beech Construction is joining with Church Hill Market to reconstruct one of the premiere and probably focal mercantile sites in Church Hill. It is our goal to share with you all of the historical and interesting finds that occur in the rebuilding of Church Hill Market.
